SUAC December Newsletter
Tuesday, 06 December 2011 22:23

Hi Everyone!

1)Holiday shooting dates

2)How to treat visitors from other clubs

3)New sister club

4)Fees

5)SUAC Holiday Events

...

1) Holiday shooting dates

The last SUAC shooting day is Friday December 16th, 2011. We will then close for Christmas and New Years and reopne on Friday January 20th, 2012.

2) How to treat visitors from other clubs

Because there is a bit of confusion with this, SUAC execs would like to take a moment to explain how to handle visiting clubs.

- If they are from our sister club UNSW Archery Club, they shoot with us like a regular SUAC member.

- If they are from another club, ask if they have AA membership.

- If they don't, tell them they can't shoot with us until they do. This is becasue of insurance purposes.

- If they do, tell them it's $10 (hand money to an exec/senior member), get them to sign the guest book and let them shoot

3) New sister club

Our sister club relationship with UNSW Archery Club is going along smoothly and it looks like a very promising relationship for the many years of archery to come!

Recently, we have been in contact with the National University of Ireland, Galway Archery Club and it looks like SUAC will have another sibling in our archery sisterhood! Following the format of the current in club tournament (as run by senior member Don Chiou), SUAC and NUIG Archery Club are thinking about hosting an archery tournament and sharing/comparing results online! We will invite UNSW Archery Club along as well and are looking forwards to perhaps kicking off the tournament some time next year!

Check NUIG Archery Club out at:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/NUIG-Archery-Club/203731228089\

4)Fees

As some of you may be aware, there was a recent issue whether or not membership with SUAC would expire one year from a member joining the club, or on January 31st 2012. This issue has now been resolved, the answer being your SUAC membership expires one year from the date you signed up.

5)SUAC Holiday Events

Due to the longer than usual break SUAC had between end of shooting 2011 and start of shooting 2012, looks like it'll be a good time for members to help out tidy the shed, sort out (or claim!) equipment, and maybe a few social events! Those of you interested in going to karaoke (like SUAC did last Summer holidays), don't hesitate to give myself (Sam Chan; This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) a shout, or post your message up on Facebook, or simply make an event yourself!

...

The weather is a little gloomy, but a little shooting with SUAC will cheer you up!

Cheers!
